Usage and attribution policy
Ajel Wire exists to spread Ajel's journalism under Ajel's name — so the content is free and open, and the one non-negotiable condition is clear attribution.
Allowed
- Republishing news text, in full or summarized, on websites, in apps, newsletters and on screens.
- Commercial use of the content inside your product (an ad-supported site, a paid app, and so on).
- Using the content in AI systems, provided Ajel is cited as the source together with the story's link.
- Machine translation for display, provided it is labelled as a translation and the meaning is not distorted.
Not allowed
- Hiding the source, attributing the content to another party, or producing a "white-label" copy that conceals Ajel.
- Distorting a story, altering its meaning, or excerpting it misleadingly.
- Reselling the raw news feed as an independent source.
- Using images that do not carry reuse_allowed=true without first verifying their rights.
- Using the Ajel logo in a way that implies an official partnership without written consent.
- Circumventing usage limits or sharing API keys publicly.
Official attribution formats
The Latin brand mark Ajel is the same in every language; only the word "Source" is translated. Every API response includes the ready-made string in the content's language in the attribution.text field.
Images
Text rights and image rights are separate. Every image in a response carries reuse_allowed — currently false by default for all images until we have documented the rights of each image source. You can display the story's text with your own image or Ajel's default image. If you need to use Ajel's images, contact us for an explicit agreement.
Updates and takedowns
The updated_at field reflects editorial changes only. A story withdrawn from Ajel disappears from every channel automatically — if you store content locally, please sync the deletion within 24 hours.
Limits and tiers
Every request needs a key — there is no access without one. The free Developer account allows 3,000 requests/hour. For publishers and high-volume platforms there are two higher tiers: Publisher at 10,000/hour and Strategic Partner at 50,000/hour — request an upgrade from your dashboard or reach us through the contact page and mention "Ajel Wire".
